Psalm 63:1 (ESV) "O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water."
Desires are seen in a positive and negative way in the Bible. Sinful desires are born from and urge to always want what others have. God hates such envious desires after other people possessions, bodies and lifestyles. But the Bible also tells of healthy and good desires of yearning after God. It is a deeper hunger and thirst after God;s presence that is established in us through the Spirit. This deep longing is always accompanied by a greater commitment to Him. Do you hunger and thirst after God? What are your desires?
