And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” And he said, “Go, and say to this people: "Isaiah 6:8-9 In 1972 Missionary Bob Burtis used this passage in a message about missions. God used that Word that day to call out both Sandra and I to missions. We went to Latin America in 1976 but came back to the US for some eighteen years before we were sent to Mexico. We have been here ever since. There is a definite call to Go and there is one who sends-God! Abba Father, thank you for calling us to go. I hope and pray that we have been faithful to that calling. I know You have more for us to do and we are ready and willing to do so. Give us strength, stamina, and spirit to carry on Your work.

" And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”-Matthew 28:18-20
This command has been burned in my heart for ages. I have attempted to disciple men and women , to teach them about Christ's commands. I have found out that a person has to have a desire to be a disciple of Christ or they will not become one. I hope I can continue as a discipler of men until the Lord takes me home. Abba Father, You have commanded us to make disciples; Your disciples- not my disciples. Lord, why do we keep this commandment? Why doesn't others within the Body of Christ make disciples? Father send more workers for the harvest so they can disciple. " and behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high." Luke 24:49
This has always been a dilemma for me. We say we have the Holy Spirit in our lives upon being born again and I believe that. But I don't seem to have the promised power from the Holy Spirit. Jesus told them to wait until they receive the power. Well- they did and we had "Pentecost". I do need a "Pentecost" in my life and ministry. Father God, I believe I need a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. I receive "handful on purpose" and I thank You for those times of anointing. But, Lord, I want that "dunamis" power you have promised us. I want to declare the Word in Holy Spirit power. Thank you!- Amen! " For I am confident of the very thing, that He who began a good work in you, will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6
Years ago Jesus Christ began a work in me, perfecting, maturing me. He has continued to do that work in me ( sometimes I have cooperated and sometimes no). But He has and He will complete tha work until the day He comes for me. Abba Father, that You for You continual work in me, Thank You that You have not giving up on me. I pray that I may finish well. Finish strong because You are still working on me. Psalm 5:1-3 (NLT) "O LORD, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning.
Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you. Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. I know God listens and He pays attention to my prayers, my groanings. I hope I can pray as consistently as this psalmist did. Do I bring my requests to Him? Do I wait expectantly? Well, I need to. Heavenly Father, I ask of You this day for strength, for protection, for inspiration, for Your touch. Father, show me today the Father's love. I ask that You give me a Word from You to share with our people. Bless You, Abba Father!- Amen! |
