It will help if we understand that the Christian life can be divided into two stages- the Red Sea stage and the Jordan River stage, with the wilderness in between. What the cross is to us, the Red Sea was to Israel. It was the symbol of their redemption, their deliverance from the bondage of Egypt by the mighty hand of God. They looked back at the Red Sea as we look back at the cross; they celebrated the Passover as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper.
But it wasn’t enough to get them out of Egypt, Moses reminded the people in Deuteronomy 6:23,” and He brought us out from the [Egypt] in order to bring us in, to give us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.” He brought us out to bring us in.

Egypt represent, slavery to sin, our lostness. Coming through the Red Sea represents our salvation. The wilderness is that time of growth , testing, searching, dependency. And crossing the Jordan River is the fullness, the victorious life in Christ. It is totally different. I believe that too many love the wilderness living. They are comfortable in that nebulous state of being hand feed manna and quail. Being led from waterhole to waterhole. Never getting to that Christian life of true victory. Those who do cross over impact the world . They are courageous and strong.
Hebrews 12:5-6 (NASB) -" and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, "MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM; FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES."
I will never forget the conversation with my dad when he was laying flat on the bed after he had broken his back at work. I ask him why this happen. His answer was that God sometimes has to discipline us and that what God was doing to him. Has or is God discipline you? “ The victorious life is not one emphasis in the Christian life; it is the Christian life.”7/19/2024 “ The victorious life is not one emphasis in the Christian life; it is the Christian life.”
The Old Testament describes Canaan as a land flowing with milk and honey, a land of luscious clusters of grapes and pomegranates and figs. The New Testament describes our Canaan as: “ Peace which passes all understanding.(Phil.4:7) “ joy unspeakable and full of glory.” ( 1 Pet.1:8) “Blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ.”( Eph.1:3) “ More than conquerors through Him who loved us.” ( Rom.8:37) ARE YOU LIVING IN THAT LAND? What do you want to see God do in your life ?
Satan is not afraid of your plans. Satan is not afraid of your programs But he is afraid of your prayers Because anytime God wants to do something great in your life, in your family, in your church, in your career, or in your nation he begins by moving you to pray. If you are not praying then maybe He is not going to do something great. Your nation needs spiritual reawakening, a renewal, a spiritual revival It won’t happen through politics or petitions, marches, or sports. Things happen when a group of people commit to pray together! PRAY THIS WEEK Ps.119:37 +40 “Lord, keep me from paying attention to what is worthless. (Instead) let me live by your Word... I want to obey to your principles. Please renew my life with your goodness!” Lam. 5:21 “Bring us back to you, God; we're ready to come back. Give us a fresh start.” (Mes) |
