1 Samuel 15:1-3 (NLT2) "One day Samuel said to Saul, “It was the LORD who told me to anoint you as king of his people, Israel. Now listen to this message from the LORD! This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I have decided to settle accounts with the nation of Amalek for opposing Israel when they came from Egypt. Now go and completely destroy the entire Amalekite nation—men, women, children, babies, cattle, sheep, goats, camels, and donkeys.”
Was his instructions from the Lord clear? What was he to do? Wipe out, destroy the Amalekites. Why ? Because the Amalekites were terrorists. They lived by attacking other nations, carrying off their wealth and their families. They lived off of human trafficking .Plus when Israel was attempting to enter the Promise Land they attacked them. God was bringing justice for His people and purifying the land. God does not do that today in that way but He uses his people to bring justice through grace and mercy not violence. Unfortunately we have those who think violence is their way to express themselves. As Franklin Graham says, "We do not have a gun problem, we have a God problem."
