The Drew Back

John 18:6-7 (NKJV)  "Now when He said to them, "I am He," they drew back and fell to the ground. Then He asked them again, "Whom are you seeking?" And they said, "Jesus of Nazareth." "
Here a mob, armed guards came to get but when He spoke they fell back. They could not advance on Jesus unless He was willing to go. He was willing to go for our sake. He could have walked right through them but He did not. Often times when our faith is challenged we fall back. When we are confronted about our faith in Jesus, in the Word of God we fall back. Why is that? God says," Stand still, be strong and courageous. Next time you are challenge step forward not backwards.
