Saved to Serve

" For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God,fell asleep and was buried with his father..."(Acts 13:36)
Have you ever read this and considered the implications and applications of this short verse. David was smart enough to serve God and his generation before he fell asleep(died). To fall asleep before we have served our generation is nothing short of tragic. I know way too many who have come and gone and never served their generation. They wanted to be served but never serve. Our Lord Jesus was a servant. He served those He came to save.
