Our Lips!

This morning I read from James three about the power of the tongue. It can bring life or death. Then I read from Jeremiah 1:9-10 (ESV)  "Then the LORD put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the LORD said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.  See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.” After this I was reminded of Isaiah when he saw the Lord, high and lifted up confessed that he was a man of uncleaned lips and hr dwelt among a people of uncleaned lips.
And my prayer was this," Lord, I pray that my preaching and teaching might never be routine. Keep me fresh; keep me under the "constant sway of the Holy Spirit;" keep me alert and alive always.Amen
