God always gives me what I need, not what I deserve.
If you and I got what we deserved we wouldn’t even be here.
PS.103:10&12 “He has not treated us as we deserve for our sins or paid us back for our wrongs…( in his goodness), he has taken our sins away and removed them as far as the east is from the west.”
When David committed adultery and murder- did he deserve mercy? NO but he knew God is good, so here is what he prayed…
PS.51:1-2 “ God , in your goodness, have mercy on me…wash away my guilt and make me clean again. From my sin cleanse me.””
God does not forgive you because you are good, but because He is good.
