Luke Sixteen

In this chapter we come across the Rich man and Lazarus. In Jesus' parables he never uses the name of people so probably these two were real life persons. It says this that " the poor man died[Lazarus] and was carried by the angels to be with Abraham." ( Luke15:22) Then listen to what Jesus said about the rich man," The rich man died and was buried, and his soul went to the place of the dead(Hades). There, in torment...."
Do you know those who do not believe in a hell? This man was in torment.
Another observation is that he could see up in heaven but they could not see him. Also there was a great chasm separating him from heaven. Once you die and you go to heaven or hell that's it. There is no passing from one to the other. It is permanent.
