Repeatedly Jesus made the most startling claim imaginable: He said He was God in human flesh. He wasn't just a man( although He was that); He was also God. Think of it: The great and powerful God of the universe came down to earth and took upon Himself human flesh.
But His teaching about Himself didn't stop there. He went on to say that because He was divine, He was without sin- and because He was without sin, He could become the sin-bearer for the human race. All our sins would be placed on Him, and He would take upon Himself the death and Hell we deserve. " Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father." - John 14:9
