keep close to jesus

Sometime people forsake their faith. They seem to stop believing, and fall back into their old way of living. Or they are worse than before. Paul referred to a few examples when he wrote to Timothy. Backsliding happens when people put their faith in something other than Jesus Christ. They give up hope somewhere particularly when the way gets tough and things don't go their way. How does one not backslide. Keep close to Jesus. Walk close enough to Him so that you don't get lost when life gets tough.
" Why then has this people turned away in perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit; they refuse to return."- Jeremiah 8:5 ESV
