We should never confuse biblical authority with some sort of obsession with power. Authority, when applied in the church or in marriage, is always functional. Not, hierarchically[look this up]. It means certain forms of authority are given to some people by God to help and serve others in love. And so that there can be healthy order. Such authority serves. It's not bossy. It creates security, stability and doesn't demand attention or recognition.
" Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give an account."- Hebrews 13:17 NKJV
