For years now I have been posting devotionals. Some have been from my own heart and pen, Others have been from the pen of those who I admired and who have a great influence on me. I want to share one this morning from our Sunday School lesson for today. We use Lifeway's "Bible Study for Life" series here in our church.
Quoting from today's lesson:" Superficial worship was not something new. Speaking through the prophet Isaiah centuries earlier, God said," These people approach me with their speeches to honor me with lip-service- yet their hearts are far from me, and human rules direct their worship of me"(Is.29:13). In Matthew 15:8 , Jesus quoted Isaiah to show superficial worship was rampant during His ministry. Unfortunately worship is still among us. We don't have to go far to hear spiritual talk and "church lingo" that is void of real worship.
Are you worship God in"spirit and truth"?
