Devotionals
I discovered in our church library " The Journals of Jim Elliot." It was complied by his late wife Elizabeth and is rich, rich, in his understanding of the Word of God. Now these daily journal entries were written over a period of time from 1948- 1955. Here is one written in 1948 and see if it does not describe the 21st century church, particularly of the West:
" Famine is upon Christendom. Love is grown cold because of the predominance of iniquity(sin). O Lord, when Christians are going to Egypt and the world for their ideas, their methods, their manner of life, I would hear the word of Isaac," Go not down...dwell in a land I will tell you." " O Lord, deliver us and bring us into a land you tell us.Amen!
