Hebrews 3:2-3 (NLT2)
2 For he was faithful to God, who appointed him, just as Moses served faithfully when he was entrusted with God’s entire house. 3 But Jesus deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself. To the Jewish people , Moses was a great hero; he had led their ancestors ,the Israelites, from bondage to the border of the Promised Land. He had also written the first five books of the OT and he was a prophet whom God spoke through to the people. But Jesus is worthy of greater honor than Moses. Jesus is more than human, he is God himself. As Moses led people out of Egyptian bondage, so Christ leads us out of sin’s slavery. Why settle for Moses, the author of Hebrews asks, when you can have Jesus Christ, who actually appointed Moses?
