In his fear and raging jealousy, King Herod responded to the newborn Jesus with bloodthirsty hostility:" Destroy Him! Let Him die while He is still in His cradle!" This response grew and swelled until one day many years later it reached its crescendo by a madd mob's terrifying roar:" Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!" ( john 19:15).
A reigning Christ, an invading Christ, a revolutionary Christ, a life-changing Christ- that is unacceptable to millions of people, today. He is a menace to their way of life.
During this Christmas season, however, may you welcome this reigning Christ, invading Christ, revolutionary Christ, life-changing Christ into your life anew.
" Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way...Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry."- Matthew 2:12,16
