Dead Spiritually

 
Man’s spirit died
In the garden were two trees: The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. ( 2:9).
God warned Adam and Eve that if they eat or even touch the tree of the knowledge of good and evil they would surely die.
Tempted by the serpent (Satan) they did eat of the fruit of that tree. Did they die physically?- NO-  Then how did they die? Spiritually. Their spirit was dead and they could no longer have fellowship with God as they were originally created.
So from that point on man was dead spiritually. So from that day God had to communicate with man. Through various means: Dreams, vision, sending of messengers, through spokesmen.
