Blessing the Lord Forever!

We Will Bless the Lord Forever
Psalm 115:16-18 (ESV)
16  The heavens are the LORD’s heavens, but the earth he has given to the children of man.
17  The dead do not praise the LORD, nor do any who go down into silence. 18  But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the LORD!
 
The Psalm closes by having the congregation sing of their renewed dedication to bless the Lord. You know we shold come to church so blessed that we want to raise our voices in praise to our God who so loves us and is with us.
He makes a statement here that you hear: “ the dead do not praise the Lord!”
Does that mean those who are dead physically or dead spiritually?
It can mean both. Those in the grave do not praise the Lord and those who are dead spiritually do not know or do they praise the Lord.
