In Proverbs 3 we are given conditions to know and to receive God's guidance. The first condition is that we learn God's truth. The will of God is revealed in the Word of God. Colossians 1:9-10 (NKJV) says,
" For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; " The only way to know God's will is to study His Word and obey. Obedience to the Word can add years to our lives and life to our years.

I am in preparation of doing a Bible study for some young adults this week. I have been praying about what to share. One of the things that we all seem to desire is to know God's will and how to receive God's guidance. Proverbs 3 clearly shows us how that can happen. Unless we are spiritually prepared, diligent , discipline in study, and obedient to what God tells us, we won't really understand much of God's Word. A willingness to obey is essential. The Holy Spirit teaches the serious , not the curious.
Serious or just curious? " For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God,fell asleep and was buried with his father..."(Acts 13:36)
Have you ever read this and considered the implications and applications of this short verse. David was smart enough to serve God and his generation before he fell asleep(died). To fall asleep before we have served our generation is nothing short of tragic. I know way too many who have come and gone and never served their generation. They wanted to be served but never serve. Our Lord Jesus was a servant. He served those He came to save. Are your serving or wanting to be served? We are back. Yes, we have been away on a tour of Israel or the Holy Land. We left March 3 and got back to Mexico City on March 13. I came back with some kind of sickness. Coughing, congestion etc.,not the flu. Lost my voice for a little bit. So I am just now getting to the routine and feeling better. Sandra is still battling a foot situation. She had surgery on December 31, 2018 and the incision has not completely healed even after much attention and working on t. She did make the trip to Israel and was a trooper. God is going to close that wound and in the mean time He is teaching us some valuable lessons. So I am resuming the daily devotionals that I temporarily suspended. They will start up tomorrow.
It is Tuesday, March 5 and we are visiting , a historical port city of Acre. It is known for it well- preserved city walls. We will visit a Crusader fort . Later we will see Mt. Carmel, 1791 feet high- the spot where Elijah challenged the 450 prophets of Baal to see who could light the sacrifice on the altar by fire. Guess what God did! We will view the Jezreel Valley. The Bible speaks of this valley at the place of Armegeddon. In the afternoon we arrive in the Galilee. Jesus did much of his ministry in and around the Galilee. Next it is the Nazareth Village, where they have duplicated on a small scale a village like it was in the first century. After a full day we will lodge in Tiberias for the next three nights.
