This is from my journal :
I am afraid that God has shut the ears of some among us that they may not be able to hear nor understand what God is trying to say. They come, they sit, and nothing changes. They still live their futile, empty lives hoping tomorrow will be better but it will not. I pray, I preach, I plead and nothing seems to change. Is it me ,Lord? Am I not sounding the trumpet of Your Word clearly? Is it me ,Lord, who needs my ears cleaned out and my heart tender? Am I wasting my time, energy and effort?

Ezekiel 11:18-20 (NLT2) “When the people return to their homeland, they will remove every trace of their vile images and detestable idols. And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, so they will obey my decrees and regulations. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.
God is describing to Ezekiel what revival looks like. There is repentance, a turning away of the old life, things and attitude. Then there is a change of heart. There is a joy unspeakable. There is a passion to follow and obey Christ. We need a revival! I have been praying for revival to break out in the church I have pastored for 17 years. As of yet, we have not seen that happen. Today in my Bible reading I came on this verse: " None of my words will be delayed any longer but the word that I speak will be performed, declares the Lord God." Ezekiel 12:28
I asked," Father is this a promise that you are going to send revival soon? oh, do so! I believe so. How desperately we need revival. Luke 12:19-21 (NLT2) And I’ll sit back and say to myself, “My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!”’ “But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’ “Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”
"We need a revival! We need a revival of consecration to death, a revival f happy abandonment to the will of God that will laugh at sacrifice and count it a privilege to bear the cross through the heat and burden of the day. We are too much influenced by the world and to little controlled by the Spirit. We of the deeper life persuasion are not immune to the temptations of ease and we are in in grave danger of becoming a generation of pleasure lovers." A.W. Tozer 1 Samuel 15:26-30 (NLT2) But Samuel replied, “I will not go back with you! Since you have rejected the LORD’s command, he has rejected you as king of Israel.” As Samuel turned to go, Saul tried to hold him back and tore the hem of his robe. And Samuel said to him, “The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to someone else—one who is better than you. And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!”
Then Saul pleaded again, “I know I have sinned. But please, at least honor me before the elders of my people and before Israel by coming back with me so that I may worship the LORD your God.” Saul excuses had come to an end. It was the time of reckoning. God wasn’t rejecting Saul as a person: the king could still seek forgiveness and restore his relationship with God, but it was too late to get his kingdom back. If you do not act responsibly with what God has entrusted you with, eventually you will run out of excuses and you too could lose your position, your income, your reputation,or more. |
