Hebrews 3:5 (NLT2)
5 Moses was certainly faithful in God’s house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later. Moses was faithful to God’s calling not only to deliver Israel but to prepare for the way of the Messiah. Knowing the OT is the best foundation for understanding the New Testament. In reading the OT we see (1) how God used people to accomplish his purposes,(2) how God used events and personalities to illustrate important truths,(3)how, through prophets ,God announced the Messiah, and (4) how, through the system of sacrifices , God prepared people to understand Messiah’s purpose and work. If you include the OT in your regular Bible reading , the NT will grow clearer and more meaningful to you.

Hebrews 3:2-3 (NLT2)
2 For he was faithful to God, who appointed him, just as Moses served faithfully when he was entrusted with God’s entire house. 3 But Jesus deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself. To the Jewish people , Moses was a great hero; he had led their ancestors ,the Israelites, from bondage to the border of the Promised Land. He had also written the first five books of the OT and he was a prophet whom God spoke through to the people. But Jesus is worthy of greater honor than Moses. Jesus is more than human, he is God himself. As Moses led people out of Egyptian bondage, so Christ leads us out of sin’s slavery. Why settle for Moses, the author of Hebrews asks, when you can have Jesus Christ, who actually appointed Moses? Hebrews 3:2-3 (NLT2) For he was faithful to God, who appointed him, just as Moses served faithfully when he was entrusted with God’s entire house.

Too many settle for less in marriage. Hebrews 3:1 (NLT2) And so, dear brothers and sisters who belong to God and are partners with those called to heaven, think carefully about this Jesus whom we declare to be God’s messenger and High Priest.
We see the word “consider” or in other translation is says,” think carefully,” to fix our minds “ ponder carefully’ focus on the true significance of Jesus. How much do we do that? In Jesus we have one to whom we should listen (Apostle) , through whom we come to the Father( High Priest) and to who we give obedience . When you think about the significance and superiority of Jesus, how does it affect your life today? Your decisions? Your actions? or does it? 1 Corinthians 7:17 (NLT2) Each of you should continue to live in whatever situation the Lord has placed you, and remain as you were when God first called you. This is my rule for all the churches.
24 Each of you, dear brothers and sisters, should remain as you were when God first called you. We have church hoppers everywhere. They go here and there trying to find the place they feel good in. They go to a particular church and when they find something wrong with that one they go to another one, and another one. God says, I called you to a a particular place , you stay. You do what you are called to do. Bloom where you are planted. Church hopper and never happy. |
