EPH.6:18 “Pray in the Spirit at all times with all kinds of prayers, asking for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready and never give up. And always pray for all God's people.” We see 7 INSTRUCTIONS:
4. About everything – no subject off limits! There is nothing you can’t pray about If you are worried pray. about it. If you prayed as much as you worried, you would have a lot less to worry about.. 5. Always be ready - Requires a plan! Must be prepared Think thru We are going to look at a plan. 6. Never give up! - Never stop praying! How often have you wanted or even stop praying. Listen, I am tempted to quit almost daily. 7. Pray for God’s people! Everybody you know in the Family of God.! Can’t do that on 2 min a day!

EPH.6:18 “Pray in the Spirit at all times with all kinds of prayers, asking for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready and never give up. And always pray for all God's people.”
We see 7 INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Pray “in the Spirit” = let God lead you. Listen to impressions! Now! Things that come to your mind, people that are on your heart. When the Holy Spirit puts an idea in your mind or a person on your heart, stop and pray. 2. At all times = There is no bad time! Always a good idea to pray. 3. With all kinds of = a prayer for every emotion...& situation . The Book of Psalms has prayers of complaining…crying out…comforting...confessing…clarifying...celebration I look upward into my Father’s loving face.
I focus on the fact that God wants me to see his as Father. Can we even grasp this? Can we? Jesus : When you pray- Start with “ OUR FATHER” If you make this one change- it will change how you pray. Do you call God “Father” in prayer? What you call someone sets the tone. You are NOT trying to convince a loan officer. Giving a deposition to an attorney Taking a lie detector test with an FBI agent It’s your FATHER who loves you Romans 8:15-17 “ You should not act like cowering , fearful slaves, since God’s Spirit has adopted you as children into God’s family. Instead, by his Spirit we simply cry ABBA ! FATHER! and God’s Spirit affirms that we really are his children. And since we are now God’s children, we are also heirs with Christ, and will share both in his suffering and his glory.” When I pray :
I look backwards to the cross. THE CROSS REMINDS ME OF 3 THINGS How deeply God loves me How costly evil and sin is How completely I’m forgiven 1 Peter 1:18-19 says this,” God paid a ransom to save you…God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life…God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life… He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.” How much are you worth? Look at the cross. God sent his own Son. He came to earth to die for you. Because God is multidimensional I’m never alone.
I am never, never, never alone, because he’s in every dimension at the same time. He’s in the past, he’s in the present and he’s in the future. He’s here. He’s there. He’s in heaven. He’s on earth. He’s in the spirit world. He’s in your world and my world. Here’s what David says, Psalm 139:7-12 (TEV) “ Where could I go to escape from you? Where could I get away from your presence? If I went up to heaven, you would be there; if I lay down in the world of the dead, you would be there. If I flew away beyond the east or lived in the farthest place in the west, you would be there to lead me, you would be there to help me. 1 I could ask the darkness to hide me or the light around me to turn into night, but even darkness is not dark for you, and the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are the same to you. “ |
