" Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."Hebrews 12:2 (NKJV)
Crowns are signs of authority. Kings wear crowns. We are also going to receive a heavenly crown one day if we are a true follower of Jesus Christ, We are going to reign on the earth together with Christ if we are true follower of Jesus. Therefore, we are to live with our eyes fixed on Jesus, as the Author and Finisher of our faith. He has a crown of victory for His true followers. We must be sure we are a true follower and not a cultural Christian. If we are , a crown is waiting for us.

" I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing."2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NKJV)
Will you pray for me as a minister of the gospel? I am not asking you to pray for the things people commonly pray for. Pray for me in the light of the pressures of our times. Pray that I will not just come to a wearied end- an exhausted, tired, old preacher, interested only in hunting a place to rest. Pray that I will be willing to let my Christian experience and Christian standards cost me something right down to the last breath I take. We see Jesus appearing to His disciples on that evening of His resurrection. In John 20 we see John's rendition of the Great Commission. Look what Jesus said to them," As the Father has sent me, I also send you." Then an amazing thing happened, : After saying this , he breathed on them and said," Receive the Holy Spirit. " Here is a preview of what was going to happen in 50 days. If God commands, He also gives us the power to fulfill that command. Jesus says "GO" . Are we going ?
Are you familiar with the Road to Emmaus? Two men traveling from Jerusalem to Emmaus, a town seven miles west were discussing the events of the last few days. In fact, it says they were discussing everything and arguing. There seem to be some disagreement over what had happened. In this short journey someone join them, it was Jesus. They did not recognize him. It says their eyes we eventually opened to recognize Jesus. I wonder if our eyes are open or closed? Can we recognize the presence and power of Jesus or are our closed that we cannot recognize Him. How often do we talk about Him? The Apostle Paul says this," My goal is to know him(Jesus) and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings..."( Phil.3:10) Do we stand with Paul with the same goal?
HE is Risen! What a beautiful sound. Our Lord Jesus is alive. Was there some doubt that would take place? Absolutely! The women who came early would not have brought items to use on the body. The disciples would have come to the tomb expectantly, but they didn't. Yes, there was doubt but the statement by the angel says it all," Why do you seek the living among the dead?" He is alive. How do I know that? He lives within my heart. Does He live within your heart?
