" Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18
Sometimes it is hard to rejoice, pray without ceasing and give thanks. But if I will stop and look around me, I can and I should rejoice, pray and give thanks. Everyday- in every way- I've got to say-" Thank You, Lord." Abba Father, today I rejoice in You, in Your salvation, I pray because You enjoy my fellowship and I give thanks for all the bountiful and wonderful blessings You bestow upon my family every day. -Amen!

" ...rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality."- Romans 12:12-13
Am I doing what we are exhorted to do here from Romans 12? Is this a checklist of doing what a real follower of Christ should do because the love of Christ dwells with in me? I need to look closer at what I am doing or what I am not doing. Abba Father, I want to be what You want me to be and to do. I confess that I have a difficult time in giving of myself. Help me to be available, to be ready and to do what I need to do in Your kingdom.-Amen! This is from Oswald Chamber," My Utmost, For His Highest".
"...it is written, ' Be holy, for I am holy' " (1 Peter 1:16) We must continually remind ourselves of the purpose of life. We are not destined to happiness, nor to health, but to holiness. Today we have far too many desires and interests, and our lives are being consumed and wasted by them, Many of them may be right, noble, and good and may later be importance to us to decrease. The only thing that truly matters is whether a person will accept the God who will make him holy. At all costs , a person must have the right relationship with God. God has only one intended destiny for mankind- holiness." " devote yourself to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving." Colossians 4:2
I must maintained a continual prayer life, always being aware of my spiritual condition and those around me. I must have an attitude of gratitude. Abba Father, I am recommitting myself to You today to pray, to be devoted to You in prayer and will keep watch always. Let me thankful, always.- Amen! " Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow." - James 1:17
All the good and perfect things that we receive we know where they come from- the Father of lights. He gives them in a consistent way. Do we deserve them? No! But because He loves us , He gives. Father of lights- thank You for the good and perfect gifts. You are consistent. Father, I know I am undeserving. I know we shouldn't receive the bountiful blessings. But in your generosity and in your love You keep giving. O thank You. Help me to be generous in giving.- Amen! |
