God has full authority in heaven and on earth. Yet He has also set people in authority on this earth. Those in specific leadership positions. Authority according to the Bible, when given to people, is never bossy or authoritarian. The Lord's leaders serve with others with their spiritual gifts. They shift the spotlight to Jesus where our focus needs to be. They use their authority to uplift the weak, lonely and outcast. They serve while they lead.
"There is no authority except from God"._ Romans 13:1 ESV
" For the Lord's sake, submit to all human authority- whether the king as head of state."- 1 Peter 2:13 NLT
