Jesus was born during the height of the Roman empire. Unlike previous empires, the Romans built roads from one end of their vast territory to the other. These highways enabled the early Christians to spread news about Jesus throughout the civilized world in only a few decades- something they never could have done if Jesus had come earlier.
Also, by ten the human race had tried all kinds of religions and philosophies, yet none had satisfied the deepest longings of the human heart or taken away the burden of guilt. Many people were now open to His message of hope and new life.
Know that God's timing is always perfect. It was then -and it is today.
