" For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek."- Romans 1:16 We have seen The Origin of the gospel: It is the gospel of Christ The Operation of the gospel: It is the power of God and the third: The Outcome of the gospel: It is the power of God unto salvation. The word salvation carried tremendous meaning in Paul's day, It basic meaning is "deliverance" and t was applied to personal and national deliverance. I believe most people today do not think they are sinners and need a Savior. But the gospel delivers sinners from the penalty and power of sin. Salvation is a major theme in this letter, salvation is the great need of of the human race.

" For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek." Romans 1:16 We have looked at the Origin of the gospel: It is the gospel of Christ. Next let us look at The Operation of the gospel: It is the power of God. The power of God to transform lives. To transform churches, to transform families, to transform marriages, to transform cities and even nations. Paul was not ashamed of the gospel because he knew the power of God. " For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek."
Romans 1:16 The Origin of the gospel: It is the gospel of Christ The Operation of the gospel : It is the power of God The Outcome of the gospel: It is the power of God unto salvation The Outreach of the gospel: to everyone who believes. " go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." was Christ commission. And it has never change. That is why people continue to go to places that need the gospel. God does not ask people to behave in order to be saved, but to believe. " For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."-Romans 10:13 It is still true today. " For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."- Romans 1:17
Romans 1:17 is considered by many the key verse of Romans. In it Paul announces the theme:" the righteousness of God." The word righteous is used in one way or another over sixty times in Romans. God's righteous is revealed in the gospel; for in the death of Christ, God revealed His righteousness by punishing sin and in the resurrection of Christ; He revealed His righteousness by making salvation to the believing sinner. Paul's Praise for the Romans
Romans 1:8 (NKJV) " First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. " In his usual manner, Paul begins this part with thanksgiving. Paul expressed a spirit of gratitude. I have often emphasized to you to have an "attitude of gratitude." Practice every day, thanking the Lord. Thank Him for another day, a good night's sleep, for such a great salvation, you can go on. Give thanks with a grateful heart. |
