" Be sure to give to the Lord the best portions of the gifts given to you." Numbers 18:29
The Old Testament temple was built with the most durable and best building materials , and decorated with the most precious objects. But the most expensive material mean absolutely nothing when we don't built our faith on the precious, fireproof material like gold, silver and other precious stones. Meaning, we need to give our best to the Master. We should serve Him without any false motives or added benefits. We should exclusively dedicate our lives to His service; otherwise our earthly construction will never remain standing.

It's Sunday! One of the greatest stories I have ever heard first hand was when I was in seminary, years ago. A friend of ours on the way home from church asked his son what he had learned in Sunday School. And here is what his son said.," Well, Daddy, Jesus was a good man. He went about doing good things but some mean ole men beat him and put him on a cross. He died, Daddy. They put him in a tomb and close it up with a big stone. And then on the third day, Jesus came back to life , He came out of the tomb. And you know what Daddy? He's back in the saddle again.!
You know he was right Jesus is back in the saddle again. And He is coming back on a white horse to conquer and reign forever. It's Saturday! The Bible and the world are strangely silent on this day. The disciples are shocked and scared. The religious leaders are satisfied. Those at the cross are bewildered and confused at what they had witnessed.
They are all silent, Contemplating what had happen and what is going to happen. Maybe today we too next to meditate and consider what Christ did for us. It's Friday! It is the day our Lord was tried before Pilate, scourged, a cross placed on His shoulders and led to that place of execution, Calvary. It's Friday a day of pain and suffering for our Lord. It's Friday where the religious leaders mocked and blasphemed our Lord. It's Friday where the thief on the cross asked our Lord to remember him. It's Friday where the Roman soldier recognize Jesus as the Son of God. It's Friday where our Lord took on Him our sins and the wrath of God. It's Friday where our Lord experienced the pain of separation from His Father. It's Friday, where the Son of God died!
But Sunday is coming! "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer."-Psalm 19:14
When you study God's creation with a Bible in hand, you can't help but see Jesus! He is seen in the vine, the sun, the stars, the lambs, the apple tress and lilies, the seed planted in the ground, and the bread on the table. The Word in the hand is fine, the Word in the head is better, but the Word in the heart is what transforms us and matures us in Christ. |
