" Yours is the day, yours is the night; You have established the heavenly lights and the sun." Psalm 74:16
Every day counts. When God created time right at the beginning , He divided it into day and night rhythms. He also grants us life on the basis of these rhythms. Meaning we only have one day at a time to make a difference. We should live every day fully and completely for His glory. Then , one day, when the last day of the Lord ends, we will receive a crown of victory from the hand of Jesus.

Romans 2:24 (ESV) " For, as it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”
Paul was addressing a group who thought they had it all in the realm of religion and spiritual things but what they said was totally different than what they did. Jesus spoke to the scribes and Pharisees and told them they were vipers, snakes in the grass. That they loaded people down with rules and regulations and they didn't even follow themselves. They had a powerless, empty religion that did no one any good. Paul told Timothy about such people, he said 2 Timothy 3:5 (ESV) "[They] having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. " Good advice. For years I have used the devotional book, " My Utmost For His Highest" by Oswald Chambers. Besides the Bible, God uses this timeless piece of commentary by Oswald Chambers to speak to me with conviction and clarity. Today as I was reading here is what Oswald said,.
" We are God's fellow workers..."( 1 Corinthians 3:9). Chambers said," We have no right to decide where we should be placed, or to have preconceived ideas as to what God is preparing for us. God engineers everything; and wherever He places us, our one supreme goal should be to pour out our lives in wholehearted devotion to Him in that particular work."Whatever your hands finds to do, do it with might..." (Ecclesiastes 9:10). You know we often forget who is in control of it all. From Oswald Chambers:
" All the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen..."( 2 Corinthians 1:20) A person who is lazy in the natural realm is always critical saying," I haven't had a decent chance," and someone who is lazy in the spiritual realm is critical of God. Lazy people always strike out at others in an independent way. Never forger that our capacity and capability in spiritual mattes is measured by, and based on, the promises of God. Is God able to fulfill His promises? Our answer depends on whether or not we have received the Holy Spirit." " But my eyes are toward You, O God, my Lord; in You I seek refuge; leave me not defenseless!" Psalm 141:18
Our eyes are important to us. They allow us to see. Yet our eyes are more than eyesight; they also represent our spiritual sight. If we use our eyes wrong, then our eyes focus on the things that don't bring glory to God. That is why we must take note of how we look at things and what we look at. Then we will notice God's glory more and more. Then we are using our eyes correctly. |
