A DAILY SCHEDULE BUILT ON THE LORD’S PRAYER
First thing you do when you awake 1. GET UP WITH GRATITUDE! (START DAY WITH THANKSGIVING!) Not with grumbling, griping, groaning, growling or grunting! You should say “Good morning,Lord” not “Good Lord it’s morning.” Doctors: the healthiest human emotion is gratitude. APPRECIATION To get started, make a gratitude list & keep it by your bed! A-Z what you are grateful for and you can read it off every morning.
1 Cor. 4:7 “What do you have that God did not give you? Everything is a gift from God! And if it was given to you, how can you brag about it? So start your day focusing on the goodness of God! 2. SCHEDULE PRAYER TIMES THROUGHOUT MY DAY
For 1000s of years – Jews said prayers at set times. Fixed hours Daniel knelt and prayed 3x a day PS.119:164 (David) “Seven times a day I praise you!” (NIV) How often do you pray? When do you pray? In the next seven days I am going to show you how you can pray throughout the day. There’s two different ways that you can pray throughout the day. You may ask HOW? MUST DEVELOP 2 HABITS
1. KEEP A RUNNING CONVERSATION WITH GOD Like breathing - you don’t think about it. Just do it naturally Like with any habit – with practice, get good at it To pray conversationally = just talk to God about whatever is on your mind at that moment! It’s a free-flowing conversation Some years ago a lady by the name of Rosalind Rinker wrote a book,” Conversational Prayer” It revolutionized praying. She pointed out we should talk to God personally. Not the formal, stiff way but conversationally EPH. 6:18 “Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads.” (TEV) EPH.6:18 “Pray in the Spirit at all times with all kinds of prayers, asking for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready and never give up. And always pray for all God's people.” We see 7 INSTRUCTIONS:
4. About everything – no subject off limits! There is nothing you can’t pray about If you are worried pray. about it. If you prayed as much as you worried, you would have a lot less to worry about.. 5. Always be ready - Requires a plan! Must be prepared Think thru We are going to look at a plan. 6. Never give up! - Never stop praying! How often have you wanted or even stop praying. Listen, I am tempted to quit almost daily. 7. Pray for God’s people! Everybody you know in the Family of God.! Can’t do that on 2 min a day! |
