A couple of Sundays past in our worship service in which we had a spirited song service a three year-old shouted out ,"Hallelujah" and the people responded with Hallelujah. Later as I gather the children to share with them and boy, do I love to do that. I dismiss them to go to the children's classes , one of the boys, in front of the pulpit, stop and asked me," What does Hallelujah mean?" It could not have been more appropriate and meaningful at that point. I responded, " It means "Praise the Lord"[ literally Praise Jehovah]. The Bible says in Isaiah," and a little child shall lead them." Our worship time that day was led by two children.
I love our church. I love the people. I love the Lord Jesus.

Today a group will be departing for a trip to Israel for ten days. We have twenty-four going on this trip. We 15 of us will leave from Houston and go to Toronto, Canada. From Toronto we fly to Tel Aviv where we will join up with nine more. This is truly an international group. We have people from South Africa, United Kingdom, Russia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, United States. Our first stop after arriving to Israel is Caesarea Maritima. Acts 10 records the story involving Cornelius and Peter. Then we read about Paul witnessing to King Agrippa and his wife Bernice in Caesarea. This is port city built by Herod the Great. After taking that first stop in then we head to our hotel in Hadera on the Mediterranean Sea for dinner and hopefulyl a good night's sleep.
We have been blessed to be able to go to Israel and Jordan. For us we have a different experience each time we go and this will be no different. 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NKJV) "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. "
God does everything abundantly. He doesn't measure His grace in an eye dropper. When God give life, He does so abundantly. He grants eternal life and abundant life to all who recieve Him. You and I should also forgive and be abundantly gracious to everyone around us. Not to mention in our giving. We have received so abundantly from the Lord that we won't be able to use up His abundance in our lifetime. Let's share and be generous with what we have. " But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." Matthew 9:6
God has full authority in heaven and on earth. Yet He share His power with people in leadership positions. Authority according to the Bible, when given to people, is never bossy or authoritarian. The Lord's leaders serve others with their spiritual gifts. They shift the spotlight to Jesus, where our focus needs to be. They use their authority to uplift the weak, lonely and outcast. They serve while they lead. |
